"I must say, I was very impressed with the packaging. And your videos were extremely helpful with clearing up any questions I had.
-I was absolutely amazed at how smoothly the shaft rotates compared to the OE set up.
-It is unreal how much more smooth and efficient the power valve operates!
The violent hit was gone. Instead the power still came on strong but manageable and somehow continued to pull higher than OE before signing off.
-I was originally expecting the stiffer governor spring to “neuter” the iconic strong mid range of the YZ and just push the power valve to only operate at high rpm’s. The results were COMPLETELY not what I was expecting. The bottom and mid range were not neutered, they were actually enhanced.
-The power valve feels like it allows the engine to move the air more efficiently through a broader power band and impressively still pulls higher than OE.
-I was fully prepared for my bike to feel similar to a TPI bike. Smooth, almost electric power delivery with zero hit and leaving much to be desired down low. But instead I still have a bike with exciting mid range, but with smooth predictable power higher into the rev range.
I feel like this is how Yamaha should have engineered this engine to efficiently move air.

"So I regularly take part in time card events, total ride time is 4hours, you regularly race against the same individuals and I’ve commonly finished 2nd, 3rd or fourth, the special “test” you ride each lap and is a timed section, this would normally take about 6-8minutes ( you probably know all this) but anyway I started the first lap good and I found myself getting faster and faster, I thought about this on my way home, my thoughts throughout the race was just concentrating on form, weighting the pegs, body position and recording track details, I’ve not been able to do this on this bike before and I knew this is what I was missing, This is a result of Hitlis!
I no longer have to worry about the engine and what it’s doing, I know what it’s doing! It then becomes a subconscious Action.
The result was my first win in class, unbelievable! But it wasn’t a win it was a destruction, I belonged in another class! this one competitor who would always beat me, last time by only a second in the special test, this time I beat him by almost thirty seconds! This was within a 6 minute test, a serious improvement.
You mentioned going back to a higher compression head and this is the exact same thought I had on the way home, my other thought was how much better your clutch work becomes, it’s so much easier! Out of corners, going up hills and blipping to go over obstacles, Instead of getting 100% of the power you get 20,40,60,80,100%, it’s up to YOU! and it’s so easy to manage now!
I can’t wait to go out again this weekend, knowing I’ve got the bike that I’ve been piecing together and that I can now get the results with. It makes it all worth it, honestly! I was about to give up with it.
To say I’m thankful and impressed just wouldn’t be enough to do this product justice."

"Everything in the kit was well organized and in a plastic lure box. The machine work on the parts was first class. The installation was very straight forward.
After warming the bike up I did about 9 or 10 rips up and down my street. The abrupt hit is gone (hence the product name).
The bike is smoother and was definitely easier to ride in the single track. It just has a long, smooth pull. Not unlike a 4 stroke, but more lively. The bike also sounds different.
It's smoother but has just as much horse power as before. A big hit can make you think it has more power when it doesn’t. The abrupt hit will light up the back tire or pull the front wheel in the air. It also tires you out quicker.
The HITLIS puts more power to the ground. I was having so much fun that I ran it out of gas and was happy for the reserve.
Most of the aftermarket stuff you buy for a YZ makes it run the same or worse. This actually works."

"Firstly, amazing product! Great piece of engineering and much needed modification. I’ve watched the videos, they are great and fully detailed.
I’ve not long ago completed another yz 250 woods build, after owning 3 other yz 250s I built this one piecing the best bits I have done before into this bike but the power valve opening has been a hurdle that has yet to be fully solved, this has always caused grip issues whilst hill climbing and in muddy conditions.
I’ve had a smile from ear to ear ever since I let the clutch out today. It’s smooth, predictable and useable, gives a torquey feel throughout the build up and I love it! I find myself asking, is there any need for any of the other mods?
I can’t compliment Productive Power enough for this idea, service, and the communication is great."

"The HITLIS is definitely not slow. It’s more connected to the ground without the violent wheelspin, each gear seemed to pull longer.
On my test loop, there is one hill that you have a hard left out of a ravine, then a loose rocky uphill with two stairsteps at the top. Until the HITLIS, I could not get enough drive up the hill to hit the first stair step and clear the second one. I could on my 4T. Now I can clear it on my YZ. Ha, no need to discuss how a 20 yr old YZ is competitive with a very expensive '22 "modern 4T”!
I increased the preload this past weekend. No power loss, you have an even more linear powerband, just keep twisting the throttle for more power. It felt like “traction control” and it pulls strong between corners. Whoops, it’s great. Able to stay on the gas and in control. Top speed improved, and heart rate went down substantially."

"I think all the bike magazines should do a review with this product! And expose it for what it is!
Words can’t even describe how good this makes the bike work, Tim with HITLIS wasn’t joking when he said this should be the first mod you do to the bike.
I’ve messed around with these Yamahas for a long time, and I consider my bike to have been pretty dialed for my style of riding/ trails, hills etc, But when I added the HITLIS Woods kit and rode it last Sunday, you couldn’t wipe the smile off my face literally.
With this set up now the governor controls the power valve and you can tell right away how smooth and controllable the power is. Don’t get me wrong it’s not weak, it’s far from that! The power is smooth, predictable, with a nice linear not abrupt spike in powerband.
Hats off to the HITLIS team. This product kicks a**!"

"I received my kit. Nice package and instructions.
The HITLIS pulls 2nd gear out of tight corners without any clutch work. After that the power is just so smooth and strong, it transitions to “on the pipe” and stays straight and connected to the ground. No rear end dancing and going everywhere fighting for control. I can be on the pipe in area 3 of a corner now, before it was area 4 or completely out of the corner. I'm staying in control and already set up and in position for the next corner. My tracks between corners was only about 1’ wide, in the past it was 3’ wide after a short session on this bike. So I’m more in control, similar to what I experience on a 4T, which is why for the last 8 years a 250F with a big bore kit has been my primary enduro bike. So far I'm thinking this is going to change that."

I picked up a YZ project and wanted to try to build a medium enduro bike that wasn't just orange or orange adjacent like all my buddies. I previously rode a husky and was on a mission to make the stock YZ work but it was hard to find usable power when things got technical. Thumpertalk led me here and well, the HITLIS accomplished all my goals better than expected. Instead of describing the benefits to power delivery, traction benefits and decrease in fatigue like many others have, I’ll focus on the customer service. Tim is awesome. You can tell that he’s someone who not only believes in his product, but he genuinely wants to help people out. Tim made himself available at every opportunity just to make sure that my experience with his product was top notch. As a random customer off the internet, I was blown away with the support I received in addition to the massive performance gains. I’ll be recommending this kit to anyone who will listen.

I've only got a few rides on the woods kit and man is it smooth! I have an apex head with mx dome along with 8 oz ffw and it is amazingly smooth. I ride a mix of hard enduro and flowy singletrack. On the hard enduro stuff it's a game changer. On the flowy stuff a gear higher is nice. I do feel like I have to shift alot when things open up a bit to keep it in the power as the top end seems to be flat. Maybe I'll try the desert kit just to see or go back to stock pipe as I'm running a gnarly which is known to not have much top end. Overall I'm really impressed with how smooth the power is delivered. Mid range is absolutely amazing! Great product and easy install!

Brad here from Ontario Canada. I reached out to Tim at Hitlis about getting the power valve kit for my 23 Yz 250. I went with the desert kit as I ride motocross only never trail ride. Installation was fairly simple, Tim even talked to Me on phone to give Me a pointer on valve set-up. The bike works so good now, its very smooth with the Hitlis Desert Kit. Pulls hard but smooth right off bottom right through the entire Rpm! It even sounds better too. After riding it for a bit with the Desert Kit, Tim gave Me his suggested Carb Jetting specs for My bike. I wasn't sure if it would make a difference or not cause I thought it ran pretty dang good but after changing it to Tim's jetting specs, I am once again blown away with the difference in power at all rpm's with new jetting. Tim really knows how to turn these Yz250's into real Race machines! The throttle response is instantaneous and very crisp, pulls very smooth and just keeps building all the way to top end. I Highly Recommend the Hitlis Desert kit and Jetting Specs!

I’m defiantly going to make some bad habits of not using the clutch after this. It just climbs and climbs with no problem! Now to work on my speed coming back down after getting to the top!
Amazed how it can come back to life when putting around in second gear all the way down to idle then straight to life with a blip of the throttle.
Absolutely in love and can’t wait to put in the SX head and see even more power to be tamed.

I thought this may be a different review amongst the plethora of reviews in the products primary wheelhouse.
I am a 30+ vet, motocross only guy who was struggling to get in my 20 minute Moto’s because of fatigue. I contacted Tim for advice on which kit being very concerned I would loose power with both, but especially the woods kit. Per Tim‘s suggestion I went with the woods kit and I am so happy I did. I have been able to extend my Moto lengths while being safer and having more fun on the bike. I’m able to roll third gear through more turns than before (almost every turn including ruts), and also shift in to fourth gear less than before thanks to the added over rev that the HITLIS provides. I have no feeling of power loss, which was a personal concern. It’s the same power just feels more linear and safer. There is also a nice safety blanket, knowing I’m not going to spin a tire as easily coming up to jump faces. This product was my last effort to stay on this bike and not sell it for a 250F. You’ll all be happy to know I’m mixing fuel immediately after posting this :).

I’ve been running the bike a couple of years with a high comp head and a flywheel weight. I added the hitlis power valve and governor kit when I did my top end and it made a major noticeable difference. Way more bottom end with a smoother power band making trail riding a whole different ball game on the yz. Not to mention customer service was top notch when I had questions!

It does exactly what they advertise. All the videos are helpful was not difficult to install.

HITLIS works as advertised. Made my 2024 250X smooth and torqey allowing me to run lower revs with more traction but the bike didn't lose the fun factor and still comes alive when you crack the throttle.
Excellent customer service too if you have questions. Yamaha should pay up big for this design and make it standard on thei bikes from the factory. This is how they should run.

I moved to to a yz250 this year and hated how snappy and uncontrollable it is after coming off a 125 and really did not want to ride the 250. I put the kit in and just went to Florida to ride and the first ride back I was blown away with how comfortable I was on it and how tame the bike was. I then took it to wild boar GNCC on a bike and won the 250c JR class on I bike I expected to hate until I put the kit in. So I would recommend this kit to anyone who doesn’t like the light switch power the stock yz comes with or thinks it’s too snappy or powerful. It mellows out the hit and makes it so much more rideable and manageable but still rips up top if you wanna hold it wide.

I installed the HITLIS on my 2022 YZ250. It's was very well packaged and easy to install with the cylinder on the bike. I found it works best on a stock bike, I removed the gnarly pipe and flywheel weight after riding a few laps. It does exactly as advertised. Super smooth power with a really meaty mid range power that rips hard on the top aswell. I would recommend this mod. Money well spent!

This is a great part. When riding a YZ, there are times when the rear traction is lost, but with Hitlis attached, the traction does not drop and the bike moves forward. The power does not decrease, but it becomes usable. They ship outside of the US, so if you are even slightly interested, you should buy it.

Ever bought something that kind of helps or makes a little difference? NOT with the Hitlis. There is no "placebo" effect with this product, it works! I installed this on my 2024 yz250x. The 250x definitely has a hit that causes lots of wheel spin. With the Hitlis, the bike puts power to the ground and moves you forward. Don't get me wrong, I can still spin the rear wheel if I want, the power is still there. It's just that the "hit" is gone. Less tiring to ride the bike? Yes. I read quite a bit about this product and the reviews. It almost sounded to good to be true. I'm glad to report the reviews are spot on. The only thing I found is the videos don't really do the Hitlis justice. If you get a chance to ride a bike with it, do it. Install instructions and videos were excellent. Best purchase I have made for this bike!
